Freely Given Online Bible College

L521, L522 Hebrew I
A study of the basic grammar of Old Testament Hebrew using Lambdinís Introduction to Biblical Hebrew. In addition to a good vocabulary, the student learns the special grammatical devices of the Hebrew language and how these convey meaning. The goal is to remove linguistic barriers between the student and the text of the Hebrew Old Testament, to facilitate sound Biblical exegesis. Hebrew I lays the basic grammatical foundation employed in Hebrew if (L523, 524) to explore the Hebrew Old Testament. It also enables the student who has not had our Greek and Hebrew Orientation class to have the language ability to use Hebrew lexicons, concordances, and other Hebrew reference works. 8 credits. Prerequisites: two semesters; and superior grammar ability.
